The Game Settled Into a Cagey Midfield Match
The 2016 exhibitions for the cultural production platform Produce 3 will be on view from April 21 to May 28.
Events, film screenings and performances will take place between April 21 - 27.
Consisting of exhibitions, film and performance screenings and productions, the 3rd edition of Produce, “the Game Settled into a Cagey Midfield Match”, will start on April 21. Exhibitions will be on display until May 28. Film screenings, performances and talks will take place between April 21 - 27. This year, amongst the works are 15 new projects commissioned by the SPOT Production Fund.
Artworks, films and performances are conceptualized and developed over a year, and exhibited as part of Produce biannually. This year’s productions deal with social movements, how they form, spread in waves and surge within masses, as well as the interaction of bodies and individuals involved.
Alongside new commissions, Produce 3 will exhibit existing works that have not been previously shown in Istanbul. One such work is Late Night, written, directed and performed by the contemporary theater collective from Greece, Blitz Theatre Group. Shown in Europe’s leading art festivals such as Next Festival and Festival Theaterformen, the performance can be seen on April 22 and 23 at 8.30 pm at Kenter Theater.
Exhibitions will be running through May 28 featuring new commissions by Ünal Bostancı, Ah! Kosmos, Eda Gecikmez, Sena Başöz, Yaprak Kırdök, Çiçek Kahraman, torna (with Charlie Coffey, İrem Günaydın, Merve Kaptan). Curatorial projects include Özkan Cangüven commissioning work by Burak Ata and Daniela Castro’s Impossible Show curating works by David Foster Wallace, Dora Longo Bahia, Ricardo Càstro, Karim Ainouz and Tortoise. As part of Produce 3, İnci Eviner will be showing her video work. Süreyyya Evren will also launch a new publication.
Films, performances and talks program of Produce 3 includes new productions by Onur Karaoğlu, Ali Farkhonde and Volkan Ergen as well as works by Yuki Okumura, Ricardo Càstro, Haig Aivazian, Ahmad Ghossein, Suna Kafadar, Ali Taptık, T’ai Smith and Zeynep Oktay, and film screenings curated by Fol Cinema Society, Maha Maamoun and Roy Dib.
Produce 3 can be viewed at Elhamra Han, Adahan -1 Gallery, Alt art space, Bilsar Arka Bina, Aynalıgeçit and Kenter Theater.
